Hello! I would like to enter your contest!
We are having an outdoor fall wedding at my father’s acreage where I grew up, romantic, fun and it MUST include all of our friends and family in every aspect, or as much as they can be involved. Thanks! Hope to hear we are the winners!
My name is Chelsey and my fiance is Nathan. We’re getting married Sept 4, 2010 in Lloydminster AB. I think a wedding planner would be so helpful to make sure all the small details that make a wedding extra special (and memorable in a positive way) are taken care of, and most importantly take some of the stress off of ME

How having a wedding planner would help: Having a wedding planner for the ‘day of’ would help SO much. After spending all this time planning a wedding and making sure everything fits into my ‘vision’, I definitely need someone who is able to bring it to fruition! I need a wedding planner to take care of the details so that I can focus on being the bride for the day.
Your Vision: Modern, urban and simple. The wedding is going to be held at the Art Gallery of Alberta with the colours of black/white/green.

Wedding Date: August 20, 2010
A wedding planner would be very helpful for us, as the both of us live extremely busy and hectic lives and are having a hard time finding a location and making our vision come through with out compromising our day. It seems keeping things simple is never simple.
Our Vision: An evening of family, friends, and fun. looking to have an outdoor ceremony, followed by a nice dinner/hors d’oeuvres, followed by a dun party/dance under the stars.
December 13th, 2009 - 11:34 pm
Wedding Date: May 22, 2010
A wedding planner would be an amazing help on my wedding day. I am a person who likes things done right and worries about the details. Having someone who could do that for me so I could enjoy the fact that I get to marry the love of my life in front of my closest friends and family would be amazing. The stress it would lift off all the shoulders of myself, my fiance and our family would be fantastic.
My vision is a black white and bright pink wedding with class and glamour that deep down at its roots is country hick. I want the place to look amazing & classy but ensure everyone has a blast.
December 14th, 2009 - 12:37 pm
Wow, this prize would be fantastic. Hugh and I have a 10 month-old son, so we really want to enjoy our wedding day and be able to spend as much time as possible with him and NOT worrying about all the details. We are throwing tradition out the window, so our wedding will be a little different.
We are hosting an evening ceremony (7:30) with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and dance to follow. Everything will take place at the Derrick Club and we are hoping to create a really classy evening by bringing in lighting/decor. And of course, we have a few surprises for our guests throughout the evening. Our colours are black and fuschia.

I would absolutely love to have a wedding planner assist on the day of my wedding. I’m a very detail-oriented person usually, but feel as though I have to sacrifice some of these details simply because I am not sure who to ask to help to oversee everything on our wedding day. And despite having dreamt of my wedding day since I was a little girl, I hate to admit that I’m actually a little clueless as to how to put everything together!
A wedding planner would be a godsend! I would love nothing more than to be compeltely stress-free and relaxed on my wedding day, knowing that there’s someone overseeing everything who understands our vision!
The words that come to mind to express my vision are: simple, elegant, chic and unique. Our colors are Tiffany blue, chocolate brown and white. I would like to ceremony to have a romantic feel and our reception to be a really fun kick-@$$ party! :o)

How having a wedding planner would help: All in all, I want to be able to relax and not worry about the little details. I also want my parents, my in-laws and our bridal party to be able to enjoy the day just as much! Just having that help to move chairs around and light candles would be so extremely helpful!!
Your Vision: My fiance and I originally wanted to get married somewhere on a tropical island, far far away. I even priced it out and did a load of research into it, but in the end decided that we wanted all of our family there on our special day. Going away somewhere would mean a lot of people missing out! So we decided to bring the Caribbean to the country! We are using steel drum music for the ceremony, and I’ve rented 4 palm trees! Our bar will be dressed up like a tiki hut and more (I don’t want to give it all away!). My vision is to feel like you step onto a Caribbean beach - our colors are turquoise & light green, with a few hints of hot pink! =)

Wedding Date: September 4, 2010
How having a wedding planner would help: We are a very organized couple who likes to have things scheduled and well-planned out (although of course a dash of spontaneity is always good too!). We will have been engaged for about two years by the time our wedding comes around, so we have had plenty of time to plan out what we would like for the wedding of our dreams. However, of course we will be very busy the actual day of the event, so having a wedding planner to oversee all the details and to have a professional’s expertise and support would be absolutely amazing. It would make the day more stress-free so we could solely concentrate on each other and celebrating a momentous occasion with all our loved ones knowing that a wedding planner was involved to help things run smoothly!
Your Vision: We will be having a modern, contemporary reception at the Oasis Edmonton Conference Centre, with our wedding colours being black, white, green, and yellow. We are hoping to have an outdoor dance under the stars complete with lanterns and torches since we love to dance! We are placing a heavy emphasis on decor as we believe that the environment really sets the mood and is so important for photos. We are very excited to carry out our vision in September!

How having a wedding planner would help: I think anyone who’s had a planner has said that having a one was worth every penny! Our wedding is down in Calgary, so paying for your travel would be worth it! Most of our guests are from out-of-town, so our families and friends will be very busy either hosting or traveling during the days leading up to our wedding. It would be nice to have a day-of-coordinator so that we don’t have to “coerce” anyone into helping us out! lol It would be nice if we didn’t have ask for some of our guests (no matter how willing) to work on our wedding day and have a planner to take care of the details
Your Vision: Modern, elegant and simple. It’s at a french restaurant (the food is amazing) and already has a romantic, vintage feel to it. Our colors are yellow and white to match the airy, summery feel to our wedding. I guess we’re going for a beautiful yet understated style.

How having a wedding planner would help: We’vew planned our 200 person wedding in a matter of 3.5 months, and anything to make the day off less stressful would be fabulous, i’m currently in Nursing school and am in clinicals right up until the day before the wedding, and have to go back 2 days after the wedding, not much of a honeymoon, but it was the best timing we could do with what we have! Having someone to worry about all the little details would be fabulous!
Your Vision: Old world meets modern, frank sinatra and bing crosby singing at the supper, red, black and white colors. A pretty winter backdrop.

Wedding Date: October 8, 2010
How having a wedding planner would help: My mom wants everything at the wedding to be perfect and she is always the 100% self-sacrificing / overworker to make sure things are so. I would love to have her be able to relax and just ENJOY the wedding and not worry about if the favours have been placed / or if the centerpieces are correct etc. I feel having a planner to oversee / help with the details on the day of our wedding would allow us AND esp. my mom to really enjoy the day.
Your Vision: we are an easy-going couple - a graphic designer and web designer respectively, so we are looking for an intimate but fun (non-formal) wedding. We are looking to make our wedding day reflect us as a couple (fun and funky) but with a hint of elegance and we will be sharing it with family and close friends. (approx 74 people).

Why a Wedding Planner Would Help: The idea of organizing and planning a wedding is a daunting task for me. I am the oldest child in my family and the oldest grandchild. This translates to me HAVING NO IDEA where to start!!! I’m so lost it’s not even funny! I would just love someone who I can sit down with and bounce ideas off of. I want someone to give me some direction and make my wedding dreams come true!!!
Our Vision: Classic, Simple, and Elegant. Colours: White, Silver, with a touch of Tiffany Blue. We want our wedding to say “this is so Kyle and Jenn”. I’m thinking outdoor dance floor (which I have to idea how to set up), paper lanterns, ceremony outside, amazing music, amazing eats. A really unique way to seat people at their tables and a unique entrance into the hall (possibly Blue Meadows). We’ll probably have 200 people!!!! I can just feel my head spinning thinking of all the things I need to do!!
I would love your help and I think your work is FANTASTIC!!! I’ve been following your site for almost the whole year you’ve been around. Happy Birthday!

Wedding Date: November 13, 2010
First of all, what a great opportunity! Thank you for running this contest, and happy birthday as well!!
Why a Wedding Planner Would Help: I would absolutely love to have a wedding planner assist on our wedding day. Having someone there to help with the details, provide expertise and support, and assist when “uh-ohs” occur (we’re getting married on the 13th, so we want to be prepared just in case!), would just be incredible. Myself and my fiance are the first in our families to get married, which means none of us are really sure what to anticipate, and I worry constantly that us and our loved ones won’t be able to have fun because we’ll all be too focused on the little things. It would be such a huge relief to have someone help over-see the details of the day!
Our Vision: Matt and I are HUGE winter holiday buffs! (Thus the November wedding!) Our vision is a warm and cozy evening at the Faculty Club, with lots of unique touches, and a ton of fun. I’m picturing a hot-chocolate bar, and a string quartet playing our favorite old-school tunes! (Journey and Barry White, just to name a few!) Colours will be shades of olive greens, golds, browns, and ivories, and we’re looking at about 150 people. Mostly, we just envision it being pretty and fun! …and winter-y. I guess that sums it up!
Thanks again for making this a possibility for us! Best of luck with all your future endeavors - can’t wait to follow them on the blog!
January 14th, 2010 - 1:30 pm
Congratulations Juli on your 1st year of success! wish you many more!
January 22nd, 2010 - 5:46 pm
Names: Nicole and Christopher
Wedding date: August 6, 2011
Wow! What a great opportunity!! Happy (belated) first birthday!
Why a wedding planner would help: It would definitely help us out a lot! I am a full blown perfectionist and worry about every little detail and that is the last thing I want to be doing on my big day! I also don’t want my family to have to worry or deal with problems! One of my good friends got married last year and she said she would have never survived her wedding without a wedding planner and she didn’t have to worry about a thing! For me, having someone to make sure everything runs smoothly and execute our vision would be the absolute best thing on our wedding day!
Our vision: clean, simple, contemporary. We are both very modern people and like clean lines and very contemporary decor. So far our colors are black, white and possibly blue (as I am a huge blue dendrobium orchid fan) and one big must is tons of candles. We would love to have our reception outside under the stars, however I think it will probably be inside because of our unpredictable Edmonton weather!

How a Wedding Planner can help: Already we’ve had a gong show planning. Our venue “lost” our booking and we only found this out when we called to see about linen options in case we wanted to arrange rental of our own. Since then we’ve called over 20 locations and have lost out on 1 by someone coming early to their viewing appointment. Needless to say, having someone else to be in charge on the ACTUAL day would probably save me from going gray… or bald…or both!
Our vision: Simple and elegant, emphasis on the simple. We’re expecting a large variety of people coming (South America, England, Quebec, and everywhere in between) which is a huge reflection of our family and friends. There will be latin dancing, country music, oldies and new stuff. We see family and friends partying and catching up until the wee hours, with fun high on the list of to dos! Our colours are chocolate brown and a darker purple.

Congrats on your 1st.
Most of our wedding party and guests are from out of town. My mom was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid and liver disease in the last couple of months. I feel a wedding planner would take away the stress for my mom, myself and our family, so we all could enjoy the day and help with all the little details that need to be handled.
Our vision: To be fun, elegant but unique. Our wedding is at the Union Bank Inn. We are having a casino (with prizes) instead of dance. Our colors are eggplant, purple, teal and turqouise. We are having 3 bridesmaids and 3 groomsmen. Thank-you for giving all of us this wonderful chance at this super gift.
January 29th, 2010 - 3:15 am
just got married last Sept so not entering, but wanna say - think Shaun and Stephanie should win. There were a big part of our wedding and they deserve to be pampered on their day and have a planner handle things for them so they can relax for once.

Hi Juli,
Congrats on Birthday #1! How exciting! I would love to enter your contest!
Darryl and I are getting married on Saturday, September 25, 2010 in Edmonton. Having you as a wedding planner for Day-of-Coordination would be beneficial because we’d love an extra set of hands to execute the little details that we’ve planned out. We are taking pride in choosing things that reflect us and are hoping that things fall into place on that day. A wedding planner could certainly assist in providing expertise with details we may have overlooked, making sure the ceremony and reception sites look fabulous and simply allowing the day to run smoothly so we can relax and enjoy our time with our family and friends who are sharing the day with us.
Our vision for our wedding ceremony is an intimate celebration in Hawrelak Park where the most important thing is that we get married!!! Our vision for the reception at the Mayfair Golf Club is a simple, modern event that allows our guests to have a great time and celebrate our marriage. We have chosen a black and white theme.
Looking forward to hearing from you! I love the work you’ve posted so far on your site.
Emily
