After the ceremony is done, the reception comes next and you can’t have a good party without music! During cocktail hour some clients have live music played by pianist, violinist, cellist etc. It is a beautiful touch that guests do notice and appreciate. Having a DJ play music is just as well, but make sure that it is something soft not Lady Gaga (as much as I love her) she has no place during the cocktail hour.
The first song you will have to choose is your entrance song, it is extremely important you pick something that suits the two of you! If you are a fun and high energy couple pick a song you can rock out to, it sends a great vibe to all of your guests and they love it. After dinner (if this is the order your reception is in) you will need songs for you first dance, and perhaps a parent and a bridal party dance – which is three songs. Some people also have songs selected for cake cutting, garter toss, and bouquet toss (if you choose to do those events). Remember make sure it’s up beat and reflects the two of you!
