WEDDING TIPS GUESTS WHO WON’T RSVP || EDMONTON WEDDING PLANNER
Nine out of ten brides will be frustrated at some point with guests and their failure to RSVP to their wedding. In fact, I could say its about 99% of the time. Everyone has the guests who know about the wedding and respond immediately, we have the guests that you know are coming and don’t reply – We’re looking at you Aunt Margret. It’s poor etiquette not to respond in one form or another. If the guest wants to keep the invitation and RSVP card – that’s fantastic but I’m sure they can RSVP with you another way.
So how long do you wait? Well you wait until your RSVP date – usually a month prior to the wedding, you will need your head count and allergies for your venue at the latest finalized a week prior and usually a fairly solid number a month out, things change and they will accept your finalized number a week out. So what do you do about these guests who cannot commit? Have someone call them or do it yourself. For example if it was my aunt on my mother’s side I would ask her to call, or call myself. It isn’t the most fun part of the wedding, but it has to be done and you’ll need the names for the seating chart as well. The earlier you have it completed the happier you will be.
For those who cannot commit after the RSVP date, inform them that you need to provide a final number. Personally I would consider them not attending and not reserve a seat for them.
