September 8: Lydia + Justin

As you may have seen, Lydia + Justin’s fun wedding was featured on Wedding Obsession.

Lydia and Justin wanted a less conventional wedding with little florals as, well, that’s “too boring”. Lydia is a big DIY bride (as you will see) and super crafty. The flowers, were handcrafted out of crepe paper by Lydia and for the ceremony backdrop we had crepe paper alternating in shades of green and yellow, and the aisle runner was custom in yellow fabric! The centerpieces were comprised of three vases with rolled flowers, leaves, and rocks and objects that reflected Lydia and Justin. But to make it more cohesive each object was spray painted the same color. A few of the objects were he-man, coffee cup, Ninja Turtles, game controller, viewmaster, movie real, camera, and slinky – there were so many more it’s hard to list them all! For escort cards Lydia made cookies. As Lydia did not want traditional, we opted for a cookie bar for the guests – which was quickly consumed.

August 31: Karyn + Erik

Karyn and Erik were married at the Muttart Conservatory in Edmonton with around 30 guests. It was an extremely intimate wedding and oh so much fun. After the ceremony guests mingled around the pyramids and then headed to the reception at Von’s Steakhouse. Karyn had created a very entertaining program for guests to read that contained information on the two of them, what was for dinner and so much more. Guests also filled out mad libs for the guest book which was very reflective of the personality of Karyn and Erik.

June 9: Lindsay + Cade

Lindsay and Cade were married and had their reception at the Norther Bear Golf course. It just happened to be one of the days we had a tornado warning for and were watching the skies very carefully. They held out for this beautiful ceremony.

The theme was more modern rustic, and Lindsay did a bunch of DIY projects for the wedding including favors, menus, table numbers, and place cards.

October 13: Olivia + Jesse

One of our last weddings of the season was Olivia + Jesse’s autumn wedding. It was rather cold and there was a forecast for snow, but we were lucky and it held off. They had a champagne and brown colour pallet to their wedding with lots of beautiful orchids. Olivia’s bouquet has got to be one of my favourites of the year. So gorgeous!

Brooch Bouquet

One of my favorite trends is the brooch bouquet. Some are colourful, some mono toned, and some very blingy! They also can be very expensive, so here’s my tip. Have whoever is hosting your bridal shower mom, sister, aunt) request that each guest goes and picks up a brooch for your bouquet and bring it to your shower. In the invite to the shower they can word it as such:

Andrea will be carying a brooch bouquet down the aisle, and would love your help to create a unique and meaningful brooch bouquet. So we ask you to hand select a brooch for her to add to her bouquet. A (Silver, Bling, Purple) brooch, old or new, blingy or broken, any piece will do.
